Israel has halted its strikes on Iran at Trump's request, but will continue to strike Lebanon
Israeli leaders have decided to halt strikes on Iranian territory following a request from U.S. President Donald Trump, who spoke by phone with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu amid the escalating conflict.
Despite this decision, the Israel Defense Forces will continue military operations in Lebanon, including in the southern Beirut suburb of Dahiya, which serves as a stronghold for the Shiite group Hezbollah.
The American leader stated on his social media platform Truth Social that final negotiations are currently underway and both sides are seeking an immediate ceasefire. At the same time, the Israeli side emphasized that if shelling of its territory and citizens continues, it will respond with full force, and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is convening a security cabinet meeting to discuss the next steps in the conflict. Journalists note that Donald Trump is effectively once again taking a direct role in shaping security decisions in the Middle East, while Israel is considering the possibility of completely canceling previously planned nighttime airstrikes.

Earlier, Iran launched a missile strike on the Ali Al-Salem Air Base in Kuwait, where U.S. military personnel and contractors were stationed. The attack resulted in minor injuries and damaged U.S. drones. The incident occurred amid U.S. efforts to negotiate an extension of the ceasefire with Tehran.
U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei is alive and continues to interact with his inner circle, although he does so cautiously and primarily through written messages and intermediaries. Officials in Washington note that his activity has been increasing recently.
