Israel says it killed five Hamas militants in the Gaza Strip
According to The Jerusalem Post, the Israeli military said it killed five Hamas militants during a series of targeted strikes in the Gaza Strip, Palestine. The operations took place on Monday in several areas of the enclave.

According to the Israel Defense Forces, at least four of those killed that day held command positions or were involved in rebuilding the group’s forces. Ahmed al-Bateh Abu Osama, a senior commander from the Gaza City Brigade, which is part of the al-Qassam Brigades, Hamas’s military wing, was reportedly killed in an overnight strike.
N12 reported that Abu Osama was killed in a strike on a vehicle. Another militant, according to the Israeli side, was hiding in a tent in Khan Younis, the southern part of which is under the control of Israeli forces.

Targets in several areas
The Israeli military and Israel’s General Security Service, Shin Bet, struck targets in Deir al-Balah, the Daraj al-Tuffah area, and Gaza City near Al-Shifa Hospital. According to the publication, the Israeli army carried out an operation there against a weapons depot last week.
A military source said the targets were identified based on intelligence from Shin Bet and Israel’s Military Intelligence Directorate. Israeli security services also reported stepping up operations against Hamas members considered to be involved in rebuilding the group’s military capabilities.
Over the past two weeks, the Israeli Air Force attacked about 20 Hamas weapons depots, as well as workshops and laboratories that, according to the Israeli side, were used to manufacture weapons. The Nili unit, established in 2023 as part of Shin Bet, is also involved in searching for those who took part in the October 7 attack.
