Israel Strikes Sana After Houthi Drone Attack

Israeli air force jets carried out major strikes on the Yemeni capital Sana on Thursday, targeting what the military said were Houthi-linked sites. The strikes came a day after a Houthi drone hit the Israeli city of Eilat, wounding 20 people.

According to Yemen’s Houthi-controlled health ministry, at least eight people were killed and 142 injured in the airstrikes. Witnesses reported that residential areas were hit, raising concerns about civilian casualties despite Israel’s claims it targeted only military facilities.
The conflict between Israel and the Iran-backed Houthi militia has intensified in recent weeks, with both sides trading attacks. Israel has expanded its strikes on Yemen following Houthi assaults in the Red Sea and their declared solidarity with Palestinian militants in Gaza.
