NPP leadership candidate pledges to strengthen party ahead of 2028 elections
Anna Horma Akaisi Myeza, who is running for a leadership position in the NPP, said that if elected, she would work to rebuild and strengthen the party so that it can return to power after the 2028 general elections. This was reported by MyJoyOnline.
In an interview with the Ghana News Agency in Kumasi, Myeza said the party needs unity, discipline, effective communication and active grassroots mobilization to regain the trust of Ghana's residents. According to her, she decided to run in order to use her experience, energy and dedication to rebuild party structures at all levels.
Cooperation within the party
The candidate noted that the NPP has a strong foundation and committed members in different parts of the country, but needs closer cooperation among national, regional, district and polling-station structures. She urged party members to set aside personal differences and not allow internal disputes to weaken the NPP.
Myeza described grassroots structures as the foundation of the party and promised to pay greater attention to their needs if elected. She also said that polling-station leaders, electoral-area coordinators and district officials need support, training and motivation to mobilize voters effectively.

Communication with voters
According to Myeza, she seeks to introduce an open style of leadership so that party members can put forward ideas for its revival. She believes that the NPP should strengthen its communication structures to explain its policies and respond to issues important to Ghana's electorate.
The candidate stressed that political rhetoric alone is not enough to win the next elections. In her view, the party must engage with communities continuously, listen to people, take previous experience into account and restore public trust.
She called on NPP supporters to avoid actions that could cause division, and on party leaders to demonstrate humility, accountability and respect for members at all levels. Myeza also appealed to delegates to support her candidacy and promised to work with the National Executive Committee, parliamentary leadership and the party's grassroots structures.
