Ghana Football Association President Okraku says his work will be appreciated later
Ghana Football Association President Kurt Okraku said that the contribution of his administration to the development of the country’s football will, in his view, be more fully appreciated after his tenure ends. He acknowledged that leading Ghanaian football is accompanied by criticism, but stressed his desire to leave behind a positive legacy.
Assessment of the administration’s work
According to MyJoyOnline, Okraku told 3Sports that he is fulfilling his role in developing Ghanaian football. He compared the future assessment of his work to how, he said, Kwame Nkrumah came to be appreciated over time.

Okraku also expressed hope that people would remember the positive things his team has done for Ghanaian football. In his view, the administration’s work should be assessed by its long-term impact on the development of the sport.
Example of a predecessor
The GFA president cited the example of his predecessor, Kwesi Nyantakyi, who, according to Okraku, also faced criticism. Okraku said that during Nyantakyi’s tenure, Ghana’s national team qualified for the World Cup and reached the final of the Africa Cup of Nations. He added that his own task is to make his contribution to the development of the country’s football.
