Suspect opens fire on police in Netanya, Israel, and is neutralized
In the Kiryat HaSharon area of Netanya, Israel, an unidentified suspect opened fire on a police unit. Police neutralized him at the scene, The Jerusalem Post reported, citing a statement by Israel Police.
Authorities are establishing the circumstances of the shooting

Arrest in connection with shooting in Herzliya
Separately, police reported the Friday arrest of a 21-year-old Herzliya resident suspected of involvement in a shooting in the lobby of a residential building in the city center. At the scene, law enforcement officers found evidence consistent with the use of a firearm.
A scooter without license plates was found near the place of arrest. Police believe it may have been used during the shooting. The suspect is being questioned and was due to appear before a court on Saturday evening to consider a police request to extend his detention. The investigation is ongoing.
