Houthis claim missile and drone attack on base in Saudi Arabia
Yemen’s Houthi movement has claimed an attack using ballistic missiles and drones on the Sharurah military base in southern Saudi Arabia. According to the group’s military spokesperson Yahya Saree, the targets were weapons depots and command-and-control facilities at the base.

According to Anadolu Agency, Saree wrote on the social media platform X that a large number of ballistic missiles and drones were used in the attack. He also claimed that they struck designated targets.
The Houthi spokesperson described the attack as a response to what he said were ongoing Saudi strikes on Yemen. He warned of the possibility of larger-scale strikes deeper inside Saudi Arabia if such attacks continue. Saudi authorities have not commented on the group’s claim regarding the attack on the Sharurah base.

Projectile falls in Jizan
Earlier on Saturday, Saudi Arabia’s Civil Defense service reported that a projectile had fallen in the Al-Tuwal governorate in the southwestern Jizan region. Two people were injured. According to the service, a mosque, several buildings and vehicles were also damaged.
The situation in Yemen has escalated in recent days amid fighting between government forces and the Houthis, which has continued since July following a period of relative calm. The Houthis claim control over the entire western province of Al-Hudaydah after advancing in western Taiz and capturing the coastal city of Mocha, with its port on the Red Sea. According to them, this has brought them closer to the Bab el-Mandeb Strait. Government forces, in turn, reported gains in the northern province of Al-Jawf near the border with Saudi Arabia and an advance toward its administrative center, Al-Hazm.
