China plans to expand exports of cultural products — ECNS
China’s Ministry of Culture and Tourism announced its intention to accelerate the entry of high-quality Chinese cultural products into overseas markets. This was linked to the international popularity of Chinese intellectual property such as “Wukong” and “Nezha,” ECNS reports.
Priorities of the five-year plan
During the 15th Five-Year Plan for 2026–2030, the ministry will focus on developing innovation, stimulating consumption, deepening cross-sector integration, and expanding cultural exports.
Miao Muyang, director of the ministry’s industrial development department, said that the operating revenue of China’s cultural sector exceeded 20 trillion yuan, or $2.84 trillion, in 2025. This is 49.6% higher than in 2020.

Support for entering foreign markets
According to Miao Muyang, Chinese online literature, web dramas, video games, and designer toys have already gained popularity in international markets. To promote them, the ministry plans to create trading platforms, strengthen service networks, and facilitate contacts between companies.
The measures are intended to help Chinese cultural products reach a wider range of overseas markets.
