China reports super-large copper-gold deposit in Anhui — ECNS

In China, the Chating copper and gold deposit in Anhui Province has been classified as super-large following the discovery of new resources. This was reported by ECNS, citing a statement from the Chinese side.

New geological exploration data

In addition to the Chating deposit, the Zhugongtang lead-zinc deposit in Guizhou Province was granted super-large status. The report described these results as significant breakthroughs in geological exploration achieved by China this year.

The discovered resources were announced on Tuesday at a press conference on the sustainable and efficient use of natural resources. The event was held by the State Council Information Office of China.

Oil and gas reserves

China also reported an increase of nearly 70 million metric tonnes in proven recoverable crude oil reserves from January to August. Proven recoverable natural gas reserves increased by 610 billion cubic meters during this period.

The Chinese side linked these figures to strengthening the country's energy and mineral resource security.
