China has extended the visa-free regime for Russian citizens through the end of 2027
The Chinese government has decided to extend the visa-free regime for Russian citizens until the end of 2027.
This was reported by Russian state media, citing the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
China unilaterally introduced the visa-free regime for Russians on September 15, 2025. Since then, Russian citizens have been able to stay in the country for up to 30 days without a visa during a single trip.
It was previously expected that the simplified regime would end on September 14, 2026, but Beijing has decided to extend it for more than a year.
Without a visa, Russians are permitted to visit China for tourism, business trips, visiting relatives and friends, and participating in cultural and humanitarian events.
At the same time, a visa remains mandatory for Russian citizens for work, study, and journalistic activities.
Meanwhile, Thailand is officially changing its entry rules for foreigners and shortening the duration of visa-free stays to strengthen control in the tourism sector and combat crime.
As a reminder, Ukraine and Bosnia and Herzegovina have agreed to launch “transport visa-free travel” for freight transport starting January 1, 2027. This means that carriers will no longer have to obtain special permits for bilateral and transit trips.
Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga stated that Ukraine maintains a strong position in the war and is gradually transitioning into the role of a state that not only receives support but also influences global security itself. He separately emphasized the importance of Ukrainian defense technologies as a key advantage.
