China has expanded visa-free entry for citizens of Kyrgyzstan and Vietnam

Starting August 20, China extended a 240-hour visa-free transit to citizens of Kyrgyzstan and Vietnam, as well as a 30-day visa-free entry to Hainan Province. This was announced by the National Immigration Administration of the People’s Republic of China, according to ECNS.

With the inclusion of these two countries, China’s 240-hour visa-free transit program now covers 57 countries. Citizens of 61 countries are now eligible for 30-day visa-free entry to the southern Chinese province of Hainan.

Citizens of Kyrgyzstan and Vietnam holding regular passports and confirmed tickets for onward travel may enter China through 65 designated border crossing points, including those in Beijing and Shanghai. They may stay for up to 240 hours in designated areas of the country.

Citizens of both countries may also travel to Hainan without a visa and remain only within the province for up to 30 days. Both arrangements are intended for short-term trips for tourism or business purposes, as well as visits to relatives and friends. For employment, study, or journalistic activities, a corresponding visa must be obtained in advance.
