China Closes Airport and Suspends Train Service Due to Typhoon Dolphin
China is preparing for Typhoon "Dolphin," which has led to flight cancellations, the suspension of rail service, and the implementation of enhanced security measures across the country.
Ningbo Lishe International Airport will cease operations on the evening of August 8 and remain closed throughout August 9.
China Eastern Airlines has already canceled some flights to and from Zhejiang Province. Meanwhile, Air China and China Southern Airlines are allowing passengers to change or refund tickets free of charge for flights that may be affected by the storm.
Starting August 9, train service in the Yangtze River Delta will also be restricted. On certain routes, the restrictions will remain in effect until August 13.
Due to the approaching storm, Chinese authorities have raised the emergency response level to three on a four-level scale.
According to weather forecasts, Typhoon “Dolphin” will make landfall between the cities of Zhoushan and Fuding sometime between the evening of August 9 and the morning of August 10.
