According to The Guardian, the incident occurred after Kurti told lawmakers that he needed more time to negotiate with other political parties. Following these negotiations, he is expected to propose a candidate for the position of speaker of parliament.

The question of who would become speaker arose after Kosovo’s snap elections in June. Kadriay, whom the publication identifies as a lawmaker from the “Alliance” party, took eggs out of her bag and threw them at Kurti, shouting, “Shame, shame.”
