Latvian CSDD customers can check data compromised in cyberattack
Customers of Latvia’s Road Traffic Safety Directorate (CSDD) whose personal data were affected by a cyberattack can check exactly what information was obtained during the incident. CSDD announced this on August 27.
Checking through the CSDD portal
After logging into their profile on the e.csdd.lv electronic services portal, users can obtain personalized information on whether their data were compromised as a result of the cyberattack.
If the data were compromised, users can view in their profile the categories of personal information and the specific details affected. A related publication by LSM English previously reported that data of 1.2 million people were disclosed as a result of this cyberattack.

Fraud warning
CSDD urged customers not to disclose this information or publish it on social media. The agency warned that, due to the large number of affected customers, the compromised data could potentially be used for various types of fraud.
Customers are advised to check the information directly on e.csdd.lv rather than following links in emails or SMS messages. CSDD also recommended installing the Cert.lv DNS Ugunsmūris app on a smart device, which blocks fraudulent calls, messages and dangerous websites, and reviewing the security recommendations for eParaksts mobile users.
