Mecca Accord Committee to meet in Riyadh over Houthi attacks — The Express Tribune
Saudi Arabia plans to hold an emergency meeting of the Strategic Political and Defense Committee next week under an agreement between Pakistan, Turkey and Saudi Arabia. It will focus on attacks by Yemen’s Houthis in the kingdom, Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar said.
Meeting in Riyadh
As The Express Tribune reports, a full meeting of the committee is to take place in Riyadh. According to Dar, participants will review the current situation, including circumstances in Saudi Arabia, in line with the Mecca Accord.
Dar said information about the decisions would be made public after the meeting is finally agreed upon and held. Pakistan, Turkey and Saudi Arabia signed the Mecca Joint Defense Agreement in August — several weeks before the start of Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia.
