Kremlin welcomes India’s readiness to help end war against Ukraine
In India, Kremlin spokesperson for the aggressor state Dmitry Peskov said that the Russian Federation welcomes India’s readiness to contribute to a peaceful settlement of the war against Ukraine. He said this on September 8 during a virtual interaction with Indian media, The Hindu International reports.
Peskov’s statement
According to Peskov, Moscow knows India’s position on the war and believes that it largely corresponds to the Russian approach. He said that Russia seeks a peaceful resolution of the conflict and is open to this process. The Kremlin representative also positively assessed India’s readiness to contribute to a peaceful settlement.

The statement came about a week after Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation summit in Bishkek, again called for an end to the war between Russia and Ukraine.
Meeting before the BRICS summit
Peskov also said that Russian President Vladimir Putin will hold talks with Narendra Modi before the BRICS summit in New Delhi, scheduled for September 12–13. Commenting on the upcoming meeting, he said that BRICS is not an anti-Western association and includes countries with shared views.
