Latvia donated SENTINEL radars to Lithuania for use with NASAMS systems

The Baltic states are strengthening their regional air defense thanks to Latvia’s donation of SENTINEL radars to the Lithuanian Armed Forces.

According to Lithuanian Defense Minister Robertas Kaunas, the primary purpose of these radars is to support operations to engage air targets with NASAMS systems by providing accurate information on their detection and tracking. Latvia decided to transfer the equipment in response to a proposal from the United States, as it uses other systems to defend its own airspace.

He emphasized that the radars will help respond more effectively to potential air threats and reliably protect the safety of citizens.
