Lieberman presents Yisrael Beiteinu list for Israel’s elections
Yisrael Beiteinu party leader and Knesset member Avigdor Lieberman presented his political force’s list of candidates for Israel’s parliamentary elections, scheduled for October, in Tel Aviv. As The Jerusalem Post reports, the party must submit the list by the established deadline on Tuesday.
Top positions on the list
Former Beit She’an mayor Rafi Ben-Shitrit took second place on the list, while reserve colonel Talya Lankri came third. Incumbent Knesset members Oded Forer and Yulia Malinovsky received the fourth and fifth positions, respectively.
Sixth on the list was Sharon Sharabi, the sister of former Hamas hostage Eli Sharabi. Her brother Yossi was killed in Hamas captivity. Eli Sharabi survived after 491 days in hostage captivity; according to the publication, he endured torture and starvation during his captivity. His wife and two daughters were killed on October 7 during the Hamas attack.

A list of 25 candidates
Incumbent Knesset members Hamad Amar and Yevgeny Sova took the seventh and eighth positions. Lod deputy mayor Elvira Kolikhman came ninth, while Knesset member Dan Illouz received tenth place; he had previously entered the 25th Knesset as a representative of the Likud party.
The full Yisrael Beiteinu list includes 25 candidates. Recent polls cited by The Jerusalem Post give the party about ten seats. Lieberman said he seeks to form a Zionist, nationalist, and liberal government consisting only of Zionist parties.
Yisrael Beiteinu is part of the opposition bloc seeking to replace Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The party advocates more decisive action against Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Iranian regime, expanding Israeli settlements in the West Bank, and separating religion from the state.
