Arab League supports limiting Hezbollah’s military activity in Lebanon
The Council of the League of Arab States adopted a resolution in support of Lebanon, rejecting external interference by Iran and the continued military activity of the Hezbollah group in the country. This was reported by The Jerusalem Post, citing an exclusive report by the Lebanese outlet L’Orient-Le Jour.
Support for Lebanon’s sovereignty
According to the publication, the document was adopted on the basis of a draft previously submitted by Beirut. The resolution reaffirmed full support for Lebanon’s independence and sovereignty.
The Council also expressed collective support for Beirut’s decision to establish a state monopoly on weapons and security decisions. The document mentions a decision adopted by the Lebanese government in March, under which weapons must be exclusively at the disposal of legitimate authorities and Hezbollah is prohibited from conducting military activity.

Support for the Lebanese army
The Council called on member states to mobilize the necessary international support for the Lebanese army. According to L’Orient-Le Jour, such efforts are intended to help Lebanon secure its territory against smuggling and terrorism.
The resolution also rejected foreign interference, primarily by Iran. According to The Jerusalem Post, Tehran has carried out a series of attacks against Arab states in recent months and sought to link a memorandum of understanding with Washington to a ceasefire in Lebanon.
Separately, the Council welcomed diplomatic efforts related to the recent agreement with Israel. It provides for the withdrawal of the Israel Defense Forces from certain Lebanese villages as part of a pilot program aimed at preventing Hezbollah’s return to areas near the Israeli border. The Council expressed hope that these steps would encourage Israel to withdraw its troops.
