Islamabad hospitals placed on high alert ahead of three marches — Dawn
Hospitals in Islamabad, Pakistan, have been placed on high alert ahead of the expected arrival of three marches in Islamabad and Rawalpindi. Medical facilities will remain in this mode until September 30, 2026, Dawn reports.
According to the documents, the preparedness measures are being taken due to possible emergencies during planned events in the Islamabad Capital Territory.
Blood supplies and ambulance readiness
Assistant executive directors, relevant specialists, those responsible for the blood bank, the deputy head of the nursing service, security staff and storekeepers have been ordered not to leave their duty stations. They must remain available and immediately report to the hospital in the event of an emergency or call.

Blood bank staff were advised to maintain a stock of at least 100 bags of blood. The head of the transport service must ensure that all ambulances, along with their drivers, are operational and ready.
Reserve beds in emergency departments
Those responsible for medical stores must ensure sufficient stocks of medical supplies for emergency departments and wards, while general store staff must provide the necessary items. The person responsible for oxygen was instructed to maintain sufficient stocks of medical gases and remain available at the hospital.
The head of the emergency department was instructed to immediately switch to high-alert mode and reserve 10 beds each in the male and female sections of the emergency department. Two rooms must also be kept in reserve in the Officer Ward for possible emergencies.
