Netanyahu’s Likud loses one seat in new Israeli poll
In Israel, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s Likud party lost one seat in a new poll and would receive 20 of the 120 seats in the Knesset if elections were held now. This was reported by Anadolu Agency, citing a poll by Israeli public broadcaster KAN.
Netanyahu’s bloc is nine seats short
Compared with the previous week’s poll, Likud lost one seat. At the same time, Netanyahu’s political bloc retained 52 seats, nine fewer than the 61 seats needed to form a government.
A new alliance of politician Yoaz Hendel and economist Yaron Zehavi cleared the electoral threshold, according to the survey, and could win four seats. At present, this alliance does not belong to either of the country’s two main political blocs.

Opposition bloc results
Even if the Hendel-Zehavi alliance joined Netanyahu’s camp, his bloc would have 56 seats and would still fail to reach a parliamentary majority. The opposition bloc led by former military chief Gadi Eisenkot could win 51 seats, compared with 55 in the previous poll.
The survey was conducted by the Kantar institute among 551 Israeli citizens aged 18 and over, including Arab citizens. The stated margin of error is 4.2 percentage points. Israel’s general elections are scheduled for October 27.
