Mátyás lifted the state of emergency in Hungary that had been declared by Orbán

Hungarian Prime Minister Péter Magyar announced the lifting of the state of emergency previously imposed by Viktor Orbán’s government.

This was reported on Péter Magyar’s Facebook page.

According to the Hungarian prime minister, the country is ending the period of governance by emergency decrees and returning to the normal legal order.

The state of emergency in Hungary was first introduced in 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic. After the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, it was extended, citing threats related to the war.

Since then, the authorities have regularly extended the special regime, which gave the government the right to make decisions by decree.

Hungaryhas announced it is rejecting pressure from the EU – Bloomberg.

As a reminder, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Hungary has returned to Ukraine the funds and assets of Oschadbank that were seized by Hungarian special services in March of this year.
