Mátyás refused to work at Orbán's residence in Buda Castle
Hungary’s incoming Prime Minister Péter Magyar has stated that he will not use Viktor Orbán’s residence in Buda Castle as his office.
Bloomberg reports this.
Instead, he plans to work in a government office near the parliament on the other bank of the Danube.
Mátyás’s team has called the former residence a symbol of “arrogant and despotic power.”
This refers to the premises in the renovated Carmelite monastery, which was used by the Orbán government.
The renovation of Buda Castle was one of the previous administration’s key projects, and its cost was estimated at hundreds of millions of dollars.
