Madonna will present the film *Confessions II*, based on her new album

Singer Madonna will present her new visual film, "Confessions II," at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York. The film's world premiere will take place on June 5 at the Beacon Theatre. The film is based on her new music album.

Variety reports this.

The film was directed by David Toro and Solomon Chase. The project is based on the first six tracks from Madonna’s upcoming album “Confessions II,” which will serve as a follow-up to her 2005 dance album “Confessions on a Dance Floor.” The album itself will be released on July 3 via Warner Records.

Following the screening, the singer and the directors will participate in a conversation hosted by Jimmy Fallon.

The official description of the film states that “Confessions II” was created as a “single continuous work” in which musical scenes are woven into a “captivating cinematic experience.”

“The film gives music a physical form. ‘Confessions II’ exists in the tension between control and loss of control, between the desire to be noticed and the desire to blend into the crowd,” the description reads.

Each song in the film is presented as a separate chapter. The creators describe it as “a sexual thriller, a dance illusion, and an epic fever dream.” They also note that the film, like the album itself, blurs the boundaries between tracks and creates “cosmic stories built on the twisted logic of dreams.”

The plot centers on a single chaotic night. According to the creators, through all the events, the story ultimately returns to the main setting: the dance floor.

Tribeca Festival co-founder Jane Rosenthal stated that Madonna “has been proving for decades that the ability to transform is an art form in its own right.”

“Confessions II is a captivating and provocative project that perfectly captures the spirit of the times while preserving the mythology of nightlife that only she could create. We are thrilled to welcome Madonna back to Tribeca,” Rosenthal added.

Madonna appeared at the 2026 Met Gala in a surreal look.

As a reminder, over a thousand movie stars have spoken out against the merger of Warner Bros. Discovery and ParamountSkydance.

Paramount recently announced a $110 billion deal to acquire Warner Bros. The transaction now requires regulatory approval, which is the next step in the process of integrating the two media giants.
