In addition, Macron presented the Pope with a French national basketball team jersey autographed by the players.

Pope Leo XIV is the first pontiff from the United States, born in Chicago, and is known for his love of sports, particularly baseball and basketball.

Pope Leo spoke highly of the agreement on a two-week ceasefire in Iran. He called the announcement a “great joy” and expressed hope that it would help save lives and create conditions for a peaceful resolution.
