A massive fire in Warsaw destroyed a car dealership along with the cars inside
On the morning of July 23, a major fire broke out in Warsaw, engulfing a car dealership and an auto repair shop. The fire destroyed the dealership and all the cars inside.
The fire was reported at 5:09 a.m. local time. Upon arrival, firefighters determined that the fire had engulfed the interconnected auto repair shop and car dealership, which measured approximately 80 by 40 meters.
The fire destroyed buildings with a total area of about 3,500 square meters. By 7:00 a.m., the open flames had been extinguished, after which firefighters continued to douse the building structures with water to prevent the fire from reigniting.
Eyewitnesses reported hearing car explosions during the fire. According to them, all vehicles inside the buildings were burned, as well as about ten cars parked nearby.
Witnesses also reported that tires and car batteries caught fire.
Despite the incident, traffic on the adjacent section of the S8 expressway continued as usual.
Police secured the scene. The cause of the fire will be determined once rescue workers have completed their work.
