Greece plans to purchase a multi-layered air defense system from Israel for €3.5 billion — Reuters
Greece’s National Security Council may soon approve the purchase of a modern, multi-layered air defense system from Israel worth up to 3.5 billion euros. The package will also include several types of drones.
One of the sources noted that KYSEA gave preliminary approval earlier this year and is expected to approve the procurement contracts on Thursday, July 23.
“KYSEA will also approve the purchase of drones from the U.S. and Israel,” the official said.
Another source also confirmed the information regarding the air defense system from Israel and the drone procurement, Reuters reports.
As a reminder, NATO and the EU are pressuring Greece to transfer Patriot missiles to Ukraine.
