Meloni will meet with Zelenskyy in Rome next week
Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni will hold an official meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Rome.
This was announced by the Italian government, which noted that the Ukrainian leader’s visit is scheduled for the middle of next week.
The meeting between the two heads of state will take place on Wednesday, April 15.
The talks are scheduled for 3:30 p.m. local time and will mark another step in strengthening diplomatic relations between the countries amid the current security situation in Europe.
Giorgia Meloni will receive the President of Ukraine at Palazzo Chigi—the official residence of the Italian Prime Minister.
The parties are expected to discuss further military and financial support for Kyiv, as well as coordination of efforts within international organizations.
Italy remains one of Ukraine’s key partners in the European Union, consistently supporting the sanctions policy against the aggressor.
The upcoming visit underscores the high level of trust and strategic partnership between Rome and Kyiv.
Previous meetings between the leaders have demonstrated complete unity on the issue of restoring Ukraine’s territorial integrity.
Analysts suggest that during the talks, special attention will be paid to preparations for upcoming summits and strengthening air defense.
