Network X has restricted posts and replies for free accounts
The social media platform X (Twitter) has introduced new restrictions for users without a paid subscription or a blue checkmark. From now on, unverified accounts will be able to post up to 50 original tweets and leave up to 200 replies per day.

It is reported that the first to notice the changes were platform users and the Reddit community, who began complaining en masse about posts being blocked. Subsequently, X’s administration updated the information on the official page of its help center:
- New rules: the limit is 50 original posts and 200 comments per day for free accounts.
- Previously: the previous daily limit was as high as 2,400 posts per day.
If a user reaches the new daily limit, the platform will automatically block the ability to post and send an error message.
Officially, X’s management positions this move as part of a large-scale campaign to combat spam, misinformation, and the proliferation of automated bots. In particular, the company previously launched the “About This Account” feature, which reveals the profile’s geolocation data.
However, analysts believe this is yet another incentive to push the audience toward purchasing paid verification packages. For those unwilling to accept the limits, the cheapest X Premium “Basic” plan starts at $3 per month (or $32 with an annual payment).
As a reminder, Spain is considering banningthe X social network.
