Trump said that Iran will not receive any money under the new agreement
U.S. President Donald Trump stated that Iran will not receive any payments as part of a potential peace agreement with the United States.
According to the American leader, Washington did not agree to the deal out of desperation; rather, it is Tehran that finds itself in a difficult position.
“They won’t get a single penny, not even ten cents,” Trump wrote on his social media platform, Truth Social.
The statement came amid reports of Iran restricting shipping in the Strait of Hormuz following the escalation of tensions between Israel and Lebanon.
Trump also rejected claims by his political opponents that Iran is allegedly in a more advantageous position than it was a few months ago. According to him, the war has significantly weakened Tehran’s military capabilities.
“Iran has proven to be a tough nut to crack for Washington,” said the director of the Center for the Study of Contemporary Iran.
Trump called the agreement with Iran an unconditional surrender.
