Merz called on Iran to engage in serious negotiations with the United States

German Chancellor Friedrich Merz called on Iran to return to the negotiating table with the United States in order to end hostilities in the Middle East and halt further escalation of violence. The German leader strongly condemned Iran’s recent strikes on the United Arab Emirates and other neighboring countries, specifically emphasizing that attacks on nuclear facilities—which pose a direct threat to human safety—are unacceptable.

He wrote about this on the X platform.

According to the head of the German government, the Iranian government must not only resume direct dialogue with Washington but also completely cease threats against other countries and immediately reopen the Strait of Hormuz for safe international shipping.

The U.S. has demanded that Iran hand over enriched uranium.

Iran is introducing fees for internet traffic transiting through the Strait of Hormuz.
