A resident of Poland passed his driver's license exam on his 139th attempt — TVP World

In the Polish city of Tarnów, a local resident demonstrated incredible perseverance by passing his written driving test on only his 139th attempt.

TVP World reports on this.

The man persistently pursued his goal for nine years, regularly visiting the testing center and never losing hope of a positive result.

Poland uses the standard European system, where candidates must first pass a computer-based test before being allowed to take the practical driving test.

Usually, most prospective drivers manage this task in 1–3 attempts, but this case was a true anomaly in the local center’s operations.

According to official data from the testing agency, the man began his journey toward obtaining a driver’s license back in 2017.

Over the course of that time, he spent approximately 1,800 euros on exam fees, which significantly exceeds the standard cost of training and obtaining a license in the country.

Pavel Gurgul, director of the traffic center, personally noted the iron will of the candidate, who has become a local celebrity. “This person didn’t give up and kept taking the test.

This shows that a driver’s license is very important to him,” the director emphasized, commenting on the man’s persistence.

As it turned out later, the reason for such an unusually high number of failures was a systemic error in the future driver’s self-study process.

“He was using a demo version of the tests that didn’t cover all possible questions,” explained Pavel Gurgul, noting that the candidate simply didn’t have access to the full question bank for a long time.

Only after switching to the professional full version of the training program did his results begin to improve rapidly.

“He gradually lost fewer points and eventually passed the exam,” added the director.

Currently, the persistent Polish man is preparing for the practical phase of testing at the training site and in the city.

As a reminder, the man bought a fake driver’s license and complained to the Ministry of Internal Affairs that it wasn’t listed in the “Dii” system.

Also, in the Dnipropetrovsk region, dealers were helping drivers “buy” licenses for money.
