The Bulgarian Prime Minister discussed the lifting of visa requirements for Bulgarian citizens with Trump
Bulgarian Prime Minister Rumen Radev said he had a phone conversation with U.S. President Donald Trump, during which he raised the issue of potentially waiving visa requirements for Bulgarian citizens.
This was reported by Reuters.
According to Radev, he expressed hope that the United States would urgently consider the issue of a visa-free regime for Bulgarian citizens.
“During my conversation with the U.S. president, I strongly raised the issue of lifting U.S. visa requirements for Bulgarian citizens, and I expect this issue to be considered as a matter of urgency,” Radev noted.
Separately, he reported on a conversation with U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hagset. According to him, the parties discussed the possible extension of the stay of U.S. military aircraft in Sofia beyond May.
The Bulgarian prime minister also emphasized the importance of continued cooperation with the U.S. in the areas of security and defense.
