Minister Ayariga inspects Aayalolo buses in Accra
In Ghana, Minister for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs Mahama Ayariga is conducting an inspection tour of facilities operated by the Greater Accra Passenger Transport Executive (GAPTE), the operator of the Aayalolo bus service in Accra. This was reported by MyJoyOnline.
Condition of the bus fleet
The purpose of the visit is to assess the number and technical condition of buses available for transport. The minister also plans to discuss with management measures that could help return more faulty vehicles to service.

The tour began at the Aayalolo office in Madina, where Ayariga discussed the transport service’s problems with management and staff. He then arrived at the site in Achimota, where several buses are out of service due to mechanical faults.
Next steps
According to Ayariga, the inspection should help the government better understand Aayalolo’s operational problems and determine the measures needed to improve the service. He assured management and staff of the government’s intention to revamp the Aayalolo system to ease transport difficulties and improve mobility for residents of the Greater Accra Region. The tour is planned to conclude at the facility in Kinbu, Accra.
