Moldova has announced its readiness to join the coalition of the resolute

On March 23, 2026, following a meeting of the National Security Council, Moldovan President Maia Sandu announced the country’s intention to join the international coalition of nations committed to assisting Ukraine.

This was reported by Newsmaker.

The statement served as a clarification of remarks made by French President Emmanuel Macron, who had previously welcomed Chisinau’s decision. Moldova has now officially expressed its readiness to participate in this initiative, though the request must still be reviewed by other members of the coalition.

Maia Sandu emphasized that participation in the coalition does not contradict the provisions of the Moldovan Constitution and is consistent with the country’s ongoing efforts to support Ukraine. The main focus of assistance from Moldovan experts will remain on demining and the training of sappers, which is already being carried out at the bilateral level. The president added that the republic’s experts are ready to conduct training and participate directly in humanitarian missions once hostilities have ended.

This initiative is part of a broader strategy by European states to strengthen regional security amid threats from Russia and its satellites. While Moldova awaits a decision from its partners, neighboring countries are also reporting rising tensions: Lithuania scrambled fighter jets due to an unidentified drone from Belarus, where Russia plans to deploy drone control stations. Moldova’s readiness to join active defense efforts demonstrates the strengthening of European solidarity in the face of Russia’s ongoing aggression.

Meanwhile, Macron explained why Europe is not sending troops to Ukraine.

The Dutch Prime Minister made his debut at a meeting of the “Coalition of the Resolute.”
