Monaco has enlisted France's help in the investigation into the assassination attempt on Yermolayev
The Office of the Prosecutor General of the Principality of Monaco, with the active support of French law enforcement agencies, is conducting a large-scale investigation into the attempted murder of Ukrainian businessman Vadym Yermolayev and members of his family.
Currently, law enforcement agencies from both countries are searching for a male suspect who fled toward the neighboring French commune of Bosoley after the explosion. Two helicopters, the RAID special forces unit, approximately 30 gendarmes, and 15 investigators from the judicial police of the Alpes-Maritimes department were deployed for the special operation. One person, detained on the morning of July 1, was released after questioning.
The condition of the victims remains serious. The teenager, who is being treated at the children’s hospital in Nice, is out of danger, and investigators have already interviewed him. However, the businessman’s companion sustained extremely severe injuries; her condition has not yet stabilized—due to the severity of her injuries, doctors were forced to amputate both of her legs. Forensic experts continue to analyze the seized physical evidence and the remains of the explosive device to identify the perpetrator.
The attack occurred on Monday, June 29, when a package containing explosives that had been left behind detonated in a residential building. Three people were injured in the incident—the businessman himself, his partner, and his teenage son.
