Today’s children can live significantly longer than previous generations thanks to advances in medicine, said Olga Tkacheva, chief consultant geriatrician at the Russian Ministry of Health, in comments to TASS.
According to her, up to half of the children born today could potentially live to be 100 years old. At the same time, she acknowledged that some demographers consider this forecast to be overly optimistic.
Tkacheva explained that future generations will have access to new technologies in the fields of clinical medicine, biology, genetics, and regenerative medicine.
