Moldova's Foreign Ministry has rejected Shoigu's statements regarding "threats" in Transnistria
The Moldovan Ministry of Foreign Affairs has dismissed as unfounded the statements made by Russian Security Council Secretary Sergei Shoigu regarding alleged threats to Russian citizens in Transnistria.

The ministry emphasized that the security situation throughout Moldova remains stable, and the rights and freedoms of all residents, regardless of citizenship or region of residence, are fully guaranteed by the state.
“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirms that the security situation throughout the country is stable, and the fundamental rights and freedoms of all individuals, regardless of citizenship or region of residence, are fully respected and guaranteed,” the ministry stated.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs also emphasized that Moldova remains committed to a peaceful resolution of the Transnistrian conflict while respecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the state.
Earlier, Sergei Shoigu stated that Russia was allegedly ready to take measures to “protect its citizens” in Transnistria, which prompted a reaction from Chisinau.
Earlier, Russian Security Council Secretary Sergei Shoigu stated that the situation surrounding Transnistria allegedly resembles the events in Donbas after 2014. He accused Moldova and Ukraine of “pressuring” the region and raised the possibility of Russian intervention.
