Travel through border areas in the Belgorod region has become more difficult

In the border areas of Russia’s Belgorod Region, regular attacks have made it difficult to travel between settlements. Local Telegram channels report that residents of certain areas are forced to wait for periods when it is safer to leave their town or return home.

In the border areas of Russia’s Belgorod Oblast, civilian movement depends on the situation regarding shelling and drone attacks. This is reported by local Telegram channels that are monitoring the operational situation in the region. According to local public channels, in some towns, people are waiting for so-called “windows”—periods when the situation allows for safer travel on the roads. During these times, residents try to leave or return, pick up essential items, or take care of other urgent matters.

Reports from local channels also mention instances where travel on certain routes remains restricted for extended periods. Due to the threat of new strikes, people are forced to monitor the latest updates and choose when to travel based on the situation. This is reported by the Telegram channel Exilenova+.

In the first six months of 2026, Russian authorities transferred assets worth at least $10.16 billion to state ownership. This is nearly as much as Russia nationalized in all of 2025, and the share of such deals has already exceeded 40% of the total volume of the Russian M&A market.
