Middle East ministers jointly condemn Israel over Al-Aqsa mosque restrictions during Ramadan

Foreign ministers from Jordan, the UAE, Indonesia, Pakistan, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Egypt have jointly condemned Israel for the ongoing closure of the Al-Aqsa Mosque (Haram al-Sharif) to Muslims during Ramadan. This denunciation highlights violations of international law and restrictions on free access to holy sites.

The access limitations imposed on the Old City of Jerusalem and places of worship violate the historic status quo and international norms. The ministers emphasized that Israel holds no sovereignty over occupied Jerusalem and its sanctuaries, and that the Al-Aqsa mosque area is exclusively for Muslims. They called on Israel to immediately end gate closures, lift restrictions, ensure free visitation, and support initiatives protecting Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem.

This development may lead to increased international pressure on Israel to respect religious rights and maintain regional stability.
