Two suspects detained in Cyprus over burglary at a house in Nicosia
In Cyprus, two men aged 41 and 44 were detained as part of an investigation into a suspected burglary at a house in Nicosia. According to the Cyprus Mail, the case is also being investigated on suspicion of conspiracy to commit a crime and malicious damage to property.
Burglary report
On September 1, a relative of the owners of a house in Nicosia told police that unknown individuals had entered the home during August. According to her, paintings, silverware, furniture and other items worth more than €10,000 in total were stolen from the house.
After receiving testimony, law enforcement officers obtained arrest warrants for two people.

Preventive measures
According to police information, the 41-year-old man was detained on September 2. During a search of his home, evidence was found and seized which, according to a preliminary assessment, may be linked to the stolen property.
The following day, the Nicosia District Court ordered the 41-year-old to be held in custody for eight days. The 44-year-old man was detained shortly after midnight on September 6. On the same day, the Nicosia District Court authorized his detention for five days.
