Pakistan Defence Day marked in Azad Jammu and Kashmir
Events marking Pakistan’s Defence Day were held in Azad Jammu and Kashmir. Ceremonies took place in Muzaffarabad, other cities and remote valleys of the region with the participation of government representatives, military personnel, students and local residents, The Express Tribune reports.
Exhibition in Muzaffarabad
An exhibition dedicated to defence and culture was organized at Narul Cricket Stadium in Muzaffarabad. It was opened by acting President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Chaudhry Tariq Farooq and Prime Minister Iftikhar Gilani.
The exhibition presented the capabilities, work and contributions of defence institutions, emergency response services and government bodies. Chief Secretary of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Khushal Khan and the commander of the Chinar Division also took part in the event.

Service and institution stands
Officials inspected stands of the Pakistan Army, the country’s air force and navy, scouts, police, Rescue 1122, the Special Communications Organization, civil defence and the Disaster Management Authority.
The displays familiarized visitors with the role of these institutions in national defence, emergency response, communications, disaster management and the provision of public services.
