Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz said such actions would include “targeted killings of senior officials” and the “evacuation of residents from cities and villages from which terrorist activity is carried out.”

Reaction from the Palestinian side
Palestinian authorities condemned Israel’s statement. They called it an attempt to fuel the conflict during Israel’s election season.
Israel’s warning concerned specifically the Palestinian Authority and a possible attack on Israeli forces or settlements similar to the attack carried out by Hamas from Gaza in October 2023.
