Woman remanded in Cyprus over Nicosia car arson case
In Nicosia, Cyprus, a court remanded a 25-year-old woman in custody for four days in a case involving the arson of a car that occurred in May. She was arrested on the morning of September 12 after Nicosia CID gathered evidence, Cyprus Mail reports.
Fire near the owner’s home
The fire occurred on May 26 at approximately 2:40 a.m. The blaze destroyed a car parked near the home of its 34-year-old owner in Nicosia.
As a result of the investigation, law enforcement concluded that the fire was caused deliberately. The publication does not provide other circumstances of the incident or possible motives.

Another person involved in the case
A 24-year-old man was arrested in the same case on June 3. The following day, he was remanded in custody for six days.
On June 10, the man’s case was set for trial. The court also ordered that he remain in custody until the next hearing, scheduled for Wednesday.
