Inspections have been stepped up on the Crimean Bridge, and truck traffic has been banned

Russian authorities have introduced stricter controls on the Crimean Bridge ahead of the May holidays. From now on, all vehicles, passengers, and luggage are subject to mandatory full inspections, and truck traffic across the bridge has been temporarily banned.

This was reported by "Suspilne Krym" citing the Russian Ministry of Transport.

It is noted that all vehicles, people, and their belongings are subject to mandatory inspection when crossing the Crimean Bridge. Inspections are conducted at specially equipped checkpoints.

The ministry noted that passage across the bridge is permitted for category B passenger cars, motorcycles, passenger minivans, and minibuses. At the same time, trucks weighing 1.5 tons or more, all-metal vans with commercial cargo beds, and passenger vans converted for commercial transport are prohibited from crossing.

Separately, the Russian Ministry of Transport has maintained a ban on hybrid and electric vehicles. Vehicles with luggage not exceeding 60×70 cm in size are subject to a manual inspection. Vehicles carrying oversized cargo undergo inspection through a stationary inspection and screening complex.

Oleg Kryuchkov, executive producer of the Crimea TV and Radio Company, was sentenced in absentia to prison with confiscation of property.

Earlier, the court handed down a verdict to a Russian intelligence agent who was detained in the Khmelnytskyi region in December 2024. The traitor was sentenced to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property.
