A restaurant called “Kon’ i Vishnya” has opened in Kazan, Russia, and reportedly uses a style and branding elements nearly identical to those of the Lviv-based establishment “P’yana Vishnya.” Specifically, the new restaurant features a similar logo, and its menu includes cherry-based drinks reminiscent of the Ukrainian chain’s concept. The restaurant opened on May 15 and sparked debate over the possible copying of the well-known Lviv brand.

This is reported by Russian propaganda media, citing the restaurant’s Instagram page.

As stated on the Instagram page, the Russian restaurant “Kon’ i Vishnya” positions itself as a steakhouse-cabaret. The Russians copied the logo of the Lviv establishment “P’yana Vyshnya,” which features a red-haired girl holding a cherry in her hand, adding a steak to her hand as well.

The font of all the lettering is also identical, and the menu features cherry liqueur, which is served to guests in the same glasses as at the Lviv establishment. The labels on the bottles of cherry liqueur are also identical.

The “!Fest” Emotions Holding, which owns the establishment, has stated that they are aware of the theft.

“This isn’t the first time the Russians have stolen. It’s a ridiculous distortion—what else can be said? These are comical thefts in business involving the distortion and replication of successful Ukrainian business models. We will not take any action because, while in the civilized world one can still speak of some accountability, in the ‘swamps’—no. This country attacked us and steals from us; stealing is in their DNA,” noted Taras Maselko, PR Director of the “!Fest” Emotions Holding.

As a reminder, the first “P’yana Vyshnya” establishment opened in Lviv on Rynok Square in 2015. “P’yana Vyshnya” is part of the “!Fest” Emotions Holding, which comprises over 100 concept-based establishments.

The concept of a Ukrainian bar was stolen in Belarus.
