On the Russian island of Sakhalin, an An-3 aircraft made an emergency landing in a field between the villages of Kirovskoye and Zonalnoye, after which it caught fire. Preliminary reports indicate that the incident was caused by a technical malfunction of the aircraft.
There were seven parachute firefighters from the Sakhalin Air Base on board the plane.

The Ministry of Emergency Situations in the Sakhalin Region reported that the An-3 caught fire due to a technical malfunction during an attempted takeoff. Rescuers who arrived at the scene found the burning An-3, which belonged to the aviation forest protection service.
The paratroopers and pilots on board evacuated the burning aircraft on their own. There were no fatalities or injuries. Twelve personnel and three pieces of equipment from the regional fire and rescue service are working at the scene.

The Archaeological Park of Pompeii, in collaboration with the University of Padua, carried out a unique project to digitally reconstruct the appearance of a person who died during the catastrophic eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD. Using artificial intelligence and modern methods of anthropological data analysis, researchers were able to transform information from skeletal remains into a realistic portrait of an elderly man.
