An armed man was detained on the grounds of Trump's golf club in California — New York Post
A heavily armed man trespassed onto the grounds of the Trump National Golf Club in California. Security guards detained him after noticing that he was taking photos and videos of the property. During a search, he was found to be in possession of ammunition and a loaded handgun.
Police identified the man who entered the Trump golf club grounds with a weapon. He was identified as 38-year-old Janine John Taele of Downey, California. According to law enforcement, he had been near the club’s grounds and was monitoring security measures two days before Donald Trump’s scheduled visit.
During a routine search, officers found a 16-round magazine loaded with expanding-bullet rounds on the man. In his car, parked nearby, law enforcement officers found a loaded pistol with a round in the chamber and an additional magazine containing expanding-bullet rounds.
During a search of Taele’s home, police discovered an illegally modified AR-platform rifle, radio transmitting devices, a .45 pistol, a bulletproof vest, high-capacity magazines, a large quantity of ammunition, and notebooks containing “alarming” notes.
The man was arrested for illegally carrying a concealed firearm and possessing prohibited ammunition. In addition, the El Segundo Police Department is investigating his possible involvement in a robbery that occurred in 2025.
On August 4, Taele was charged with several counts, but he pleaded not guilty.
Journalists discovered that the man, who calls himself a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, had been seen near Trump’s golf club on multiple occasions since June.
