The world's largest aircraft carrier docked at a base in Crete following a fire

The world's largest aircraft carrier, the Gerald R. Ford, arrived Monday at the naval base in Souda Bay on the island of Crete.

This was reported by AFP.

The ship’s arrival came after an incident on March 12, when a fire broke out in the laundry room on board. At that time, about 200 sailors were injured due to smoke inhalation.

The aircraft carrier has been at sea for nine months. During this time, it has participated in operations in the Caribbean Sea, particularly near Venezuela, and has also been active in the Middle East.

The ship’s prolonged stay at sea raises concerns about the morale of the crew and the vessel’s combat readiness.

The Gerald R. Ford carries over 5,000 sailors and more than 75 aircraft, including F-18 Super Hornet fighters. The aircraft carrier is equipped with modern radar systems for airspace control.

Additionally, explosions were heard in Tehran during Trump’s remarks.
