Saudi Crown Prince and Egyptian President hold talks in Cairo

Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman met with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi at Al-Ittihadiya Palace in Cairo, Egypt. The leaders held a bilateral meeting and an expanded session of talks.

Bilateral relations

El-Sisi welcomed the Saudi crown prince to Egypt, while Mohammed bin Salman thanked him for the hospitality and reception extended to him and the accompanying delegation. The sides reviewed the strategic bilateral relations between Saudi Arabia and Egypt, as well as opportunities for their further development in various fields, Asharq Al-Awsat reports, citing the Saudi Press Agency.

Regional security

The talks also addressed issues concerning the Arab and Islamic world and developments in the Middle East. Particular attention was paid to regional security and stability, including maritime security and freedom of navigation, as well as coordinating efforts on these matters.

On the Saudi side, the meeting was attended by Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, Minister of State, Cabinet Member and National Security Adviser Musaed bin Mohammed Al-Aiban, Minister of State and Cabinet Member for Shura Council Affairs Essam bin Saad bin Saeed, and Crown Prince’s Secretary Bandar bin Obaid Al-Rashid. Several senior Egyptian officials were also present.
